How this site works

Editorial policy

This page sets out how elorienne.online is written, checked, funded and corrected. It is published so that a reader can judge for themselves how much weight to give what we write. If we fall short of it, tell us.

Who writes this site

Articles on this site are written and signed by Joshua Scott, who is also the director of publication for AVIA PARTS s.r.o. and is responsible for everything published here. Every article carries a named byline and a publication date. We do not publish anonymously and we do not use invented author personas.

Where an article is later revised in a way that changes its substance, the revision is dated and, if a factual claim changed, the change is listed on the page itself.

How facts are established

Our subject is video games, which are live products that change with every patch. That shapes how we work:

Primary sources first. The developer's and publisher's own sites, patch notes and store pages are the authority on what a game contains, what it costs and what platforms it runs on.
Secondary sources for context. Public reference works and established outlets are used for history, reception and background, and are named.
Sources are listed. Every article ends with the sources it was written from, so you can check us.
Uncertainty is stated, not smoothed over. If we cannot substantiate something, we either leave it out or say plainly that we could not confirm it. We do not fill a gap with a confident-sounding sentence.
Figures are attributed. Where a number comes from a publisher's marketing, we say so and explain what it counts.
The official source prevails. Every article states that where it and the developer's own information diverge, the developer's information is right.

What we will not do

These are not aspirations. They are rules, and content that breaks them does not get published:

No invented testimonials. We do not write "reader stories", fabricate quotes, or present made-up experiences as real ones. If we have not got a real, attributable account, there is no account.
No invented ratings. We do not award star ratings, scores or badges that are not the result of a stated method, and we do not display review counts or aggregate scores we did not gather.
No artificial urgency. No countdown timers, no "offer ends today" unless a named advertiser has genuinely published that date, no fake stock counters, no "only N places left".
No guaranteed-result claims. We do not promise outcomes — not winnings, not earnings, not results of any kind — and we do not publish advertiser copy that does.
No fabricated specifications or statistics. A number we cannot source does not appear. This includes system requirements, player counts and release dates.
No disguised advertising. A commercial link is always labelled as a partner link where you can see it, not only in a footnote.
No pressure to click. We do not use interstitials, forced redirects, pop-ups or countdowns to push readers towards an advertiser.

How the site is funded

elorienne.online is funded entirely by affiliate advertising. Links marked as partner links lead to advertisers' own sites. If you follow one and sign up, AVIA PARTS s.r.o. may receive a commission from the advertiser. You are never charged more because you arrived through us, and the advertiser's prices are not affected by our involvement.

We take no payment from readers. We run no subscriptions, no donations and no paywalls. We do not sell advertising space on the page, and we do not accept payment for a review, a mention, a ranking position or a favourable adjective.

Disclosure appears in three places on every page carrying a commercial link: a bar at the very top of the page, a disclosure box immediately after the headline and before any promotional content, and a note under each individual call to action. Each commercial link is additionally marked rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" in the page source so that search engines and other automated readers can identify it.

Advertiser independence

Commission is paid on referrals. It is not paid for coverage, and it does not buy any of the following:

Advance sight of an article. Advertisers do not read our copy before publication.
Approval or veto. No advertiser can require a change, a deletion or a softening of anything we publish.
Protection from criticism. Where the evidence supports a critical judgement, we publish it, including about a product we earn commission on. Our Enlisted article says plainly that the game's purchase model is contested and that "cosmetics only" would be a false claim — while carrying links that earn us money.
Placement. We do not rank or order content by what pays best.

If an advertiser were to make continued participation conditional on changing editorial content, we would end the relationship rather than make the change, and would say so on the page.

Images and diagrams

All diagrams on this site are original work, drawn as SVG files specifically for the article they appear in. We do not use product screenshots, promotional artwork or stock photography, because reproducing a rights holder's imagery on an advertising-funded page raises copyright and trademark problems that are not ours to create. Every diagram has descriptive alternative text and a caption, and the page states that the visuals are original.

Reader privacy as an editorial commitment

We collect nothing. No cookies, no analytics, no advertising pixels, no fingerprinting, no browser storage of any kind, and no third-party requests — the site loads no remote fonts, scripts, images or stylesheets. This is an editorial position as much as a legal one: we do not think a reader should have to trade information for an explanation. See the cookie policy, which explains how to verify this yourself in about thirty seconds.

A practical consequence: we have no audience analytics at all. We cannot tell you which article is popular, because we genuinely do not know.

Corrections

We will get things wrong. When we do, this is what happens:

Tell us. Email info@elorienne.online with the page address, the statement you believe is wrong, and — if you have one — a source. You do not have to give your name, and we do not require any personal information to accept a correction.
We check it. We aim to acknowledge within five working days and to reach a conclusion within ten. If the check takes longer we will say so rather than go quiet.
If we were wrong, we fix it and say so. A material factual error is corrected in the text, and the correction is recorded on the page with its date. We do not silently edit a claim out of existence — the Enlisted article carries a table of everything corrected from its earlier version, including claims that were embarrassing to us.
If we were right, we explain why. You get the reasoning and the source, not a form reply.
Right of reply. A person or organisation whose product or conduct is described here may request a right of reply. Send it to the same address, marked for the director of publication.

Corrections are handled the same way regardless of whether the subject is an advertiser.
